The housing company Domesta from Emmen in the Netherlands rented about ninety thousand apartments and houses in the province of South Drenthe.
Since the beginning of 2016, Domesta has offered its renters complete solutions for the production of regenerative energy, such as photovoltaic plants, on the dwellings rented by Domesta.

The tenants should initially be given 10 years to pay off the costs of investing the facilities. However, it was decided that Domesta would supply and assemble the solar systems free of charge for a substantial part of their housing stock. The condition of Domesta is that the house is suitable for such a solar installation. This gives the renter immediately the opportunity to benefit from lower energy costs. This is in line with Domesta’s philosophy of making living as a whole more affordable and environmentally friendly for the tenants. The solar installations are realized by two regional installers who purchase the materials from Ecotecworld Nederland.
In order to create a uniform basis for the approx. 5000 plants, Domesta selected as a product specification for the photovoltaic systems monochristaline modules in the fully black version of the manufacturer LDK with a capacity of 275 watt  peak (Wp), inverters from Solaredge and Omniksol and a  substructure of ESDEC (clickfit or Flat Fix Fusion) which fits to the roof.
